He could find himself back in the Raiders' lime green if and when the NRL finally resumes - the Raiders have one spot remaining in their top 30.

The ex-New Zealand international signed a one-season contract with Japanese rugby union side Panasonic Wild Knights.

He'd been widely linked with a return to the Green Machine before the June 30 deadline and is now free to do so - provided the coronavirus doesn't also shutdown the remainder of the NRL season.

Rapana left Japan on Tuesday and has already started the 14-day self-isolation period everyone returning from overseas is forced to do.

He landed just days after the NRL was forced to shut down the competition when the state and territory borders were closed.

The NRL had completed just two rounds - the second of which was played in front of empty grandstands - as measures were introduced to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The Raiders players have returned to their homes following their 20-6 victory over the New Zealand Warriors on the Gold Coast on the weekend, where they've been instructed to isolate themselves from the public as much as possible.

Canberra's strength-and-conditioning staff are working on programs for all their players to ensure they stay in as good a shape as possible under the circumstances.

They'll need to take into account the limited gym and training equipment each player has at their respective homes given all gyms are now shut.

Some players, like John Bateman (shoulder), will continue to have access to medical and physiotherapy staff for their ongoing rehabilitation.

"Some have got to come in, some are getting rehab. Some are seeing the doctor, some are seeing the physio," Raiders chief executive Don Furner said.

"We've still got to do that because we still have a duty of care to rehab them. There's still all those issues we've got to work through."
