Pialligo Estate Grocer
Pialligo Estate is opening its orchards, market gardens, butchery, bakery, smokehouse, kitchens, wine cellar and beer fridge to feed Canberra. Grocery essentials include flour, mince, pasta, rice, bread, milk, eggs and toilet paper. But there's a great range of fresh produce from fruit and vegetables to meats and seafood. Their own range from the smokehouse is also available but are proving popular - what, no bacon? You can also order wine and beer. And if you couldn't be bothered cooking there's a great range of ready meals from their famous lamb shoulder to delicious curries. The service is contact-free, place your order online, drop out to Pialligo and they'll place it straight in your boot.
Highroad Cafe
Ordered a fresh produce box from Highroad Cafe in Dickson and the lovely Lauren left it at my front door about three hours later. They're supporting their local suppliers, farmers who are struggling because their usual buyers have had to close their doors. As well as fresh produce there's sourdough, milk, eggs and a great range of housemade pickles, jams and granola. And if you're missing your coffee there's plenty of Ona Coffee as well. And the wine list is long. Live local, buy local.
Wiffens
Wiffens at the Fyshwick Markets is doing a roaring trade in fresh produce and more. Order online by 10am for next day delivery or click and collect is also available. Items available include milk, cream and butter, smallgoods, breads, cheese, eggs, spices and even flowers. A large range of grocery items are available as well from sugar and juices, to breakfast cereals, pasta and soups.
Hotel Realm
Fancy shopping via a hotel? Hotel Realm is offering boxes of fresh seasonal produce with different sizes to cater for different families. There's a small fruit box or mixed boxes available in small or large. The boxes are brimming with produce, from fresh ginger, to corn, oranges, broccoli and avocados. There's also an essentials box containing pasta, rice, toilet paper and long-life milk. While you're there pick something up from Ostani's great takeaway menu. Coconut and lime poached chicken salad and a Ravensworth wine? Don't mind if I do. To order mail ostani@domahotels.com.au or text 0423 736 061 or call 02 6163 1808 with details and delivery/pick up options can be arranged.
