It's the major intersection to get into Bungendore and continue on to the coast, and it may soon be a little easier to negotiate. The Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council has called for expressions of interest to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Malbon and Molonglo streets.

The council's service manager of contracts and projects Derek Tooth said construction should start in eight to nine weeks and should be completed by October, notwithstanding any coronavirus shutdowns.
"We used to talk about our dry-weather program. Now we talk about our coronavirus-shutdown-free program," Mr Tooth said.
The intersection could carry up to 10,000 vehicles a day at peak times.
The council had always planned to construct the roundabout during the slower period of winter.
The impact of the coronavirus meant there would be even fewer vehicles on the road.
Mr Tooth said the intersection would remain open to traffic during the construction phase.
The new roundabout would also have staged crossings for pedestrians to cross more safely.
