The new case is a woman in her 70s, who was a close contact of a previously confirmed case.
Six patients remain in Canberra Hospital, three of them in intensive care.
ACT Health said 42 cases have since recovered from COVID-19, while the remainder of the cases are self-isolating at home.
There have been almost 5500 negative tests carried out.
Two cases remain under investigation as to how they contracted the virus.
Test results that would confirm if the patients acquired the virus through community transmission are expected later this week.
Health authorities say there remains no evidence of community transmission in the ACT as of Tuesday.
The new patient is the first coronavirus case recorded in Canberra in 48 hours, after zero new cases were recorded on Monday.

While the curve may be flattening, acting ACT chief health officer Dr Vanessa Johnston urged Canberrans to remain vigilant and keep up social distancing measures.
"Many jurisdictions are still seeing spread of the disease so we must not become complacent," she said.
"Please stay home this Easter long weekend. Do not think it is safe to travel down the coast or interstate or gather with family with friends.
"Please find other ways that you can connect with your loved ones over this period."
