The second emergency of the field, Irish Songs relished the heavy track and unleashed a devastating sprint to win the Town Plate (1200 metres) in fine style on Thursday.
The Kurt Goldman-trained sprinter came flying down to the outside, hitting the front at the 200 metre mark and ran away to score from Southern Lad and Man Of Peace.
It provided both Nisbet and Goldman with their first Town Plate. For the latter, it was a dream come true.
"This Town Plate is something I've been chasing for 16 years," Goldman told Sky Racing.
"I've never had a runner in it. We thought about putting Eckstein here, we had Hellbent one year, we could have easily gone down that path but I knew I had the right horse today."
It's the second straight victory Nisbet has claimed aboard Irish Songs, who won the Moruya Town Plate last start.
The four-year-old gelding won his maiden at Gundagai on Snake Gully Cup day in 2018. Goldman has always held a huge opinion of the horse and was thrilled to see him deliver on his potential.

"As soon as I legged Kayla on today, I said I'm going to make it real simple, I said he'll just win," Goldman said.
"He'd come on since that Moruya race. He had, what I thought was the best wet form in the race. He had solid metropolitan wet form, all he had to do today was get the right run and he got that and he won."
Goldman will now look to the Brisbane Winter Carnival and hopes the victory will put Irish Songs on the path towards The Kosciuszko later in the year.
The curtains could be closing on Fell Swoop's career after the Matthew Dale-trained gelding finished 10th in the Town Plate.
Dale said on Monday an average run could spell the end of his decorated career, which has amassed nearly $2 million in prizemoney, five group one placings and multiple stakes wins.
Keith Dryden's Express Courier beat the Dale-trained She's a Treasure by 0.24 lengths to claim Thursday's heat of the Wagga Stayer's Series.
