1. At-home spa day
With social distancing restrictions now allowing one household to visit another, you can treat mum to an at-home spa day in her living room this Mother's Day. Stock up on pampering products from one of Canberra's day spas, pick up some nail supplies to give your mum a well-deserved manicure or even DIY your own face mask for an afternoon of relaxation.
2. Cocktail class
Why not try your hand at making your own cocktail for happy hour with your mum? There are plenty of video tutorials on YouTube such as the ones on Steve the Bartender's channel, or, of course, Google can point you in the direction of any cocktail recipe that may take your fancy. It should go without saying that any participants in this should be over 18 or opting to make mocktails.
3. DIY sundae bar
Need we say more? This is great for the mum with a sweet tooth - but let's face it, it's sure to be a winner with pretty much anyone. Stock up on lollies, toppings and, of course, mum's favourite ice-cream flavours and let her make her prefect sweet creation.

4. Netflix and clean
That is, you let mum binge watch her latest Netflix show (complete with all of her favourite snacks), while you clean. You can finally make up for all those years she cleaned up after you (at least in part). Why not take it one step further and organise dinner while you're at it?
5. Get moving
Put on your best active wear and get moving with mum. Find an online workout that you can do together. Aerobics Oz Style videos have made a bit of a comeback during social isolation and can add a little bit of nostalgia to your workout. Otherwise, YouTube is home to all types of workout videos including yoga, dance classes, and general cardio.
6. Indoor scavenger hunt
This one takes a little planning and requires you to have a good memory of the layout of your mum's house, but it is also a fun way to give your mum her Mother's Day present - especially if you have kids who want to get involved. It can be as simple as getting mum to close her eyes while you hide written clues and, of course, the present. Each clue should lead to the next and then finally the main present.
7. Get creative
Get out some paints, paper and pencils and take an online art class. YouTube is obviously a good place to start for free videos. Other paid platforms include Skillshare and Udemy. Life with Paint also has online art classes, or, if you want to prolong Mother's Day celebrations, Canberra business, The Social Creative is offering an online class on May 13 with all supplies delivered. Tickets for the Ecstatic Emu class are $59.11 from Eventbrite, plus delivery.
