Protesters have been removed by police after they had climbed on to the roof of a Melbourne hotel, demanding the release of asylum seekers detained at the property.

Police walked the protesters out of the hotel with their suitcases around 2pm on Tuesday.
It is understood protesters occupied the hotel about 7.30am on Tuesday, having checked in as guests on Monday.
In a live video posted on Facebook, about 10 protesters were seen climbing to the roof of the Mantra Hotel in suburban Preston and barricading themselves there.
The protesters continued to stream their demonstration through live videos, where one of the activists could be seen locked to the roof door with what appears to be a bike lock around her neck.
Holding banners and speaking on a megaphone, the activists demanded the release of more than 60 asylum seekers held at the hotel.
The refugees detained at the hotel were on Manus Island before coming to Australia under the medevac laws.
