The NRL is set to publish the remainder of the 2020 fixture on Thursday but venues will not be allocated beyond round nine.

A revamped 20-round season is tipped to include two highly-anticipated showdowns between Canberra and the reigning premiers, the Sydney Roosters. The Raiders will meet four other clubs twice, expected to be the Melbourne Storm, the Gold Coast Titans, the New Zealand Warriors and the St George-Illawarra Dragons.

The Raiders will call Campbelltown Stadium home for phase one of the competition with the NRL using only six venues to meet biosecurity protocols and broadcast considerations.

It means the Green Machine will be unable to use Canberra Stadium until mid-July despite the ACT being one of only two jurisdictions to be free of any known active COVID-19 cases.

However fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad is confident Canberra can win on the road having posted a 9-3 away record last season before stunning Melbourne behind enemy lines in the finals series.

"We can only focus on what we can control, and that's preparing as best as possible and working hard. I'm hoping we can do the same thing this year," Nicoll-Klokstad said.

"There are a lot of teams in the competition facing a bit of adversity, and it's just about the team that deals with it the best.

"What we can do is just train as hard as we can out here on the paddock and put it all together on game day.

"All the outside stuff you can't control, you can only control what we do inside these walls. That's working hard, playing a simple game, and letting that do the talking on the weekend."

Canberra will travel to Melbourne for their round three clash on May 30, with the Storm allowed to play at home in similar fashion to Brisbane and North Queensland.

The Raiders will be forced to travel on a weekly basis despite no border restrictions hovering over the ACT.

It matters little for halfback George Williams as he continues to find his feet in the NRL with a nine-week wait to be wedged between his second and third games in lime green.

"We've not been playing or training so we're happy to play anywhere at the moment," Williams said.

"That's just the way it is at the moment, obviously we're in a pandemic. We'll go wherever we are told.

"I was a little bit nervous going into those first two games but I am a little bit more confident now I've got a few games under my belt and been with the team a lot longer, exciting times.

"No disrespect to Super League, I found it tougher and faster [in my first two games in the NRL]. I'm enjoying being around the boys, they've been fantastic for me. I'm learning every day."
