It is little wonder when Pat Langtry stops to ponder the highlights of his rugby journey he simply concedes "I wouldn't know where to start".

The St Edmund's College mentor has been awarded life membership with Australian Schools Rugby after a glistening career with the organisation dating back more than 20 years.
A glance at his resume shows since 1999 three stints as Australian Schools head coach, while also being an assistant coach, Australia A coach, team manager, coaching director and selector.
So picking a standout is a tough ask, but among the list of players who have risen from schoolboys ranks to Wallabies squads and World Cup appearances, there remain a handful.
"I've probably got a really soft spot for the Faingaa boys, only because I know their story and their background," Langtry said.

"I've got a soft spot for the Lam brothers as well, particularly when Jack made the Samoan World Cup side as a captain and gave up his opportunities elsewhere to focus on that.
"When you go back 20 years, it's the people. That's 100 per cent it, the people. You get an Australian schoolboy come into the program, you have them for a short time, and there are a hell of a lot of them that you stay in touch with."
Even today a chance meeting with those same players will inevitably lead to a chat about the old days when they were students with big dreams.
So often Langtry still sees them as exactly that, even if he is standing there talking to someone who now has a young family of his own with so many of those dreams realised.
"When they come into the program, we say to them 'you can look at it as the end of your rugby journey or the beginning of it'," Langtry said.
"The ones who see it as a beginning of the journey and end up on the world stage are the stories you really like.
"Some of the greats of the game that have been through it, you just see them as fellas you had a relationship and a connection with, and you just maintained it. To see them make it is probably the best thing.
"The organisation has been very beneficial to me in many ways and I think I have got more out of it personally than I have a perception of what I've given to it. To combine it with being a school teacher has been a unique and special experience."
