The AFL announced its much-awaited return for June 11 on Monday, releasing a revised draw for the next four rounds of the season.

Greater Western Sydney will host North Melbourne, Collingwood and Hawthorn at Giants Stadium, and will meet the Western Bulldogs in Melbourne in round three.

League officials are aiming to release the next block of games, likely to be two rounds, after June 21.

The AFL's decision to release the fixture in blocks amid the coronavirus pandemic means officials remain flexible on venues, with social distancing restrictions beginning to ease across the country.

The Giants and ACT government are discussing the prospect of playing at Manuka Oval, but the move would depend on whether crowds are able to attend.

Greater Western Sydney were scheduled to host three regular season matches at Manuka Oval this season as part of a 10-year, $23 million deal with the ACT government.

The value of the deal will slightly decrease as the government will not be required to pay a match return fee of about $400,000 plus GST per fixture.

Former ACT Sports Minister and Belco Party candidate Bill Stefaniak has called for Andrew Barr's office to release the full details of the deal, given the government will still pay a partnership plan fee.

The fee is designed to develop the Giants' brand in Canberra through the club's academy program, as well as community and participation initiatives.

The government has also continued to pay the ACT Brumbies and Canberra Raiders, despite the current absence of games played in the capital.

"I understand we have already paid the Giants the money for this year's season, which is unlikely to see one game in Canberra," Stefaniak said.

"Is it fair that Canberra ratepayers pay $2.3 million for no games this year?

"We should get Canberra ratepayers money back for the games not played. What sort of one-sided deal has the ACT government done?

"I see some reports that we might get an extra game in Canberra next year. Might is not good enough. Our deal should be strong enough that we can insist on getting our money's worth out of any deal done with any sporting organisation."
