Prime Minister Scott Morrison says there will be a formal investigation into whether Mr Heydon's Companion of the Order of Australia should be revoked if the "incredibly serious" allegations are upheld.
In Victoria a 13-year-old boy charged in relation to the stabbing death of Melbourne teenager Solomone Taufeulungaki has been granted bail. The 15-year-old died after being attacked with knives and baseball bats in the car park of Brimbank Shopping Centre on June 16.
Meanwhile the state's Premier, Daniel Andrews, said "don't pretend," as he warns sick people against leaving their homes as coronavirus continues to spike in Victoria.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian wants Victorians in hot spots to stand relatively still and refrain from "moving around at all".
Almost 25,000 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in Victoria in the past 48 hours as the state marks a week of double-digit growth in cases.
Health Minister Greg Hunt says Australia's borders will remain closed for "a very significant" amount of time. He said coronavirus infection rates were accelerating around the world.
