1. Mulligans Flat and Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve: Surround yourself in nature by visiting this reserve in the far north of Canberra. Mulligans Flat and Goorooyarroo reserve have a range of different walks to take, with lengths ranging from 5.5 kilometres to 15 kilometres. This includes a six-kilometre bird-watching circuit. The park also has picnic areas.The reserve also has artefacts and sites of significance to First Nations Australians.

2. Lake Tuggeranong: Shake up your lakeside walk and head to Lake Tuggeranong. The circuit is just over 6.5 kilometres, with options for walkers, runners and cyclists. The lake has opportunities for bird-watching with native birds such as galahs, rosellas, and cockatoos flocking to the lake. There are also playgrounds and barbecue places for families to take respite. The path is near Tuggeranong town centre making it convenient for a post-walk coffee.
3. Mount Ainslie: Mount Ainslie is a beautiful natural landmark, a pocket of nature in the middle of the inner north. There's a popular bush track that begins from behind the Australian War Memorial to Mount Ainslie's summit. It is two kilometers each way and the walk has varying steepness to keep walkers active and engaged. At the summit you will be able to see many Canberra landmarks.
4. Molonglo Gorge: Take a drive to Molonglo Gorge, a nature park on the border of the ACT and Queanbeyan. The nature reserve has plenty of opportunities to get active. There is a three-kilometre walking trail that follows to river towards the Blue Tiles Walk picnic area. The Blue Tiles Walk itself is a more advanced hike that is 6.8 kilometres long. The Molonglo Gorge is an incredibly beautiful landmark that is several kilometres long surrounded by cliffs up to 60 metres high.
5. Curtin pram-friendly walking route: If you are looking for a quick and easy child and dog friendly walk head out to Curtin. Canberra Dog Walks have devised a pram friendly route around the suburb. The four kilometre walking route begins at the Curtin shops. It goes through a large off leash park for dogs, and goes through a series of informal parks back to the shops. The route takes approximately 60 minutes.
