Rarely off display, the pandemic closure allowed the first in-depth research, analysis, and major conservation treatment of Blue Poles since its acquisition in 1973.
From this Wednesday, July 8, visitors to the National Gallery can see David Wise, the NGA's senior paintings conservator, working on Blue Poles every Wednesday from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
On Thursday, July 9, audiences can watch a live stream on Facebook from 12.45pm with David Wise and senior curator of international art Lucina Ward as they discuss the project.
