But their fate rests in the hands of ACT chief health officer Kerryn Coleman, who could make a decision as early as Monday about whether crowd capacity will be increased from 1500.
It's believed Coleman was happy with the way things went at the Canberra Raiders and ACT Brumbies games at Canberra Stadium on Friday and Saturday night respectively.
Each had boisterous crowds, albeit small ones, at their games - the first NRL and Super Rugby contests played in Canberra since the coronavirus forced Australia into lockdown.
Coleman will consider the reports from both weekend's games and also look at the COVI-19 data for the ACT before making a decision.
The ACT hasn't had a new recorded case of coronavirus for a month.
The Raiders would be the immediate beneficiary of any decision to increase capacity above the 1500 that was allowed to both of those games.
They host the Melbourne Storm at Canberra Stadium on Saturday, while the Brumbies have the bye and won't play there again until the Queensland Reds come on August 1.
It's hoped the crowd sizes can start to edge towards the 25 per cent of seated capacity that Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced almost a month ago.
That would be a crowd of 5500 at the Bruce venue - although social distancing regulations further reduce that down to about 3800 - with the ACT government initially opting for a much more conservative approach.

But the crowd size could be increased above 1500 as early as Monday when the government fronts the media.
Brumbies chief executive Phil Thomson was just happy to have the football back.
It was the Brumbies' first game since they thrashed the NSW Waratahs 47-14 in March - almost four months ago.
Thomson said three weeks - when they next play at home - was a long time in the current coronavirus climate so anything could happen, but he was hopeful the government would allow crowds to slowly increase.
"To have the football back on was a success so that was a tick [in] the box and I think the crowd that was in the stadium it was obviously great to have the 1500 fans there watching the match," Thomson said.
"You knew they were there. They were very vocal, which was great, and hopefully by the next time we play at [Canberra] Stadium on August 1 restrictions will be lifted a little bit more and we'll be able to have more fans there."
