Vijay Dubey, who was pre-selected to contest the inner-city seat of Kurrajong at the October 17 poll, has resigned, Canberra Liberals campaign director Josh Manuatu said in a statement late on Tuesday afternoon.
Mr Manuatu said the Liberals were confident of finding an "outstanding candidate" to replace Mr Dubey on the party's election ticket.
"We respect Mr Dubey's decision and wish him well," Mr Manuatu said.
"The Canberra Liberals are committed to making Canberra the best place to live, work and raise a family."
