Kyrgios has been on the front foot in the tennis shutdown, earning support for his rebuke of the likes of Novak Djokovic and Grigor Dmitrov for their lack of awareness during the COVID-19 pandemic.
They played at an Adria Tour exhibition event in June, leading to Djokovic, Dmitrov, Coric and Viktor Troicki testing positive to coronavirus.
But Coric, the world No. 33, said he didn't care what Kyrgios said. "He enjoys being a general after battle," Coric told Croatian publication Jutarnji.
"Coming from someone else, I might have understood, but Kyrgios ... It's not really realistic. It's his style, he works like that, there is no problem. Zverev behaved badly, but I don't understand the need to criticise a colleague like that."
Kyrgios turned to Twitter to reply. "You should care. Do you have rocks in your head? Again, you can stand up for your mates, I'm just trying to hold them accountable," Kyrgios said.
"When I said what I said, I didn't intend to bother. They are tennis players, they aren't special. Just as I thought Coric intellectual level = 0."
Kyrgios has been based in Canberra since the start of the pandemic, training at Lyneham but not knowing when he will rejoin the ATP tour circuit.
When questioned about criticising Djokovic and co despite being photographed at a nightclub in the capital, he said: "We have zero cases in Canberra. I followed every rule, as did every citizen that lives with me in the ACT. Maybe do some research you pelican."
