They're currently restricted to only members, owners and sponsors at Thoroughbred Park.

But they've only had to lower the prizemoney on their Federal race from $40,000 to $30,000 with all other races remaining at the usual levels.

That will again be the case at Friday's meet, with the ACT government deciding against easing restrictions on large crowds on Thursday.

Canberra trainer Keith Dryden has three runners in the Federal, with one of those - Wichita Warrior - the $2.90 favourite.

"We had to [reduce prizemoney] for The Federal, so that's still in place at the moment, but I hope if conditions improve we can return The Federal to the levels it was prior," Racing Canberra chief executive Andrew Clark said.

"All our standard prizemoney was still the same ... the longer conditions remain the same with the very low crowd figures we're allowed to have the longer that will delay things due to the impact on our catering."

Thoroughbred Park's currently restricted to a total crowd of just 266 - spread across three function rooms.

With the restrictions around jockeys easing, it's seen the hoops literally take over one of the bars on course.

Not that there's any concerns about drink riding, with the male jockeys using the Winning Post bar as a changeroom.

As part of the original coronavirus protocols, jockeys were only allowed to ride in one region, but that's been relaxed.

So to ensure there's minimal mixing between the various regions they've been split up into four changerooms - two for the men and two for the women.

"Our Winning Post bar is one of the male jockey rooms," Clark said.

"We've got the male and female jockey areas where they normally are, but we've also got another group on level one of our building in the old Thoroughbred Club and owner's lounge area."
