The Dunlop man, 41, has been charged with high-range drink-driving offences.
He was allegedly behind the wheel of a blue Falcon when he veered off Ginninderra Drive in Bruce and hit a fence.
One passenger was treated at the scene and taken to hospital for observation.
Police officers at the scene found the man sitting in the bushes beside the crashed car.
Police allege the man returned a positive roadside breath test and after a second test at the City Police Station returned a result of 0.197.
His licence was suspended and he is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court on September 22.
