Senior Constable Scott John White has now been charged with two counts of perjury and one of being knowingly concerned in the unauthorised possession or use of a prohibited weapon.

He appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning and pleaded not guilty to the new charge, which alleges that he knowingly made a false statement in a legal proceeding in July 2015.

Senior Constable White had already pleaded not guilty to another charge of perjury after allegedly lying to an ACT court during a case involving his wife, Sarah-Jane Parkinson.

Parkinson was sentenced in January 2019 to more than three years in jail after falsely accusing a former partner, who served about four months behind bars on remand, of rape and domestic violence.

Senior Constable White also denies the weapons charge.

The ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday heard the police officer had elected for the matters to proceed on indictment, meaning the case must be transferred to the ACT Supreme Court.

Magistrate Bernadette Boss accordingly committed Senior Constable White for trial, and placed him on bail.

The case has been listed for trial directions on Thursday next week, but Senior Constable White has been excused from appearing on that date if legally represented.

He has been suspended from his NSW Police duties pending the outcome of the criminal case.
