Muirhead has been a revelation for the Super Rugby AU favourites since he was plucked out of the John I Dent Cup as injury cover midway through 2017.
The 27-year-old says he is living out a dream with the Brumbies as they set their sights on a clash with the Queensland Reds on Saturday.
It's a dream that has him on the cusp of domestic glory with the club earning a home ground advantage for the competition decider on September 19.
"He's a classic Brumbies success story, a player who didn't get a lot of opportunity at the start of his career but since he's been part of the program has just excelled," Brumbies coach Dan McKellar said.

"We brought Andy into the group off the back of his performances at club level and with the Runners and he's become a quality Super Rugby player.
"We talk a lot about making sure the character of a player fits the club, not just their ability on the field and Andy fully represents that.
"Everything he does is for the group whether he's starting or finishing he prepares the same and always turns up to training ready to work."
Muirhead has developed into a key figure around Brumbies headquarters, so much so that he was a driving force behind the club's inaugural Indigenous round this year.
The Canberra Royals flyer could find himself in the club's Indigenous strip again this week amid talk the Brumbies will don the special kit against the Reds.
"The club gave me an opportunity to play professional rugby, to live out my dream and I feel this is the best place for me to continue my career," Muirhead said.
"Canberra is like home for me now, and with the friends I've made both in our squad and with Royals, there's no place I'd rather be than at the Brumbies."
