Bayley Kuenzle walks into ACT Brumbies headquarters with a firm grip on a kicking tee he jokes nobody else can be trusted with.
So the 22-year-old flyhalf places the tee on a table alongside a pair of microphones as he prepares to front the media about re-signing with the Super Rugby AU front runners for 2021.
Soon Kuenzle leaps at the chance to throw a cheeky jab when assistant coach Peter Hewat walks past.
"I've got the tee, mate," Kuenzle laughed.
Because it was Hewat that brought out the wrong tee when Kuenzle was lining up a sideline conversion two weeks ago, leaving the youngster to attempt a drop-kick - a sweet strike which ultimately hit the crossbar.

Kuenzle jokes he was filthy on Hewat for the minor mishap, so rest assured he'll bring the right tee out for a top of the table clash against the Queensland Reds in Brisbane on Saturday.
Their last meeting was decided by an 83rd minute penalty to Mack Hansen, and Kuenzle is ready to rise to the challenge should their meeting go down to the wire.
The Brumbies boast a 58 per cent goal kicking success rate this season - the worst of the five teams. So when his teammates finish a training session, Kuenzle - who kicks at 63 per cent - spends up to 20 minutes lining up conversion attempts.
"I don't really feel the pressure, I've put the work in out on the training paddock," Kuenzle said.
"I feel like there's less pressure from the sideline, unless it's from right in front. I'm quite confident kicking [from the sideline], I nail them during the week. I have to trust my process."
For Kuenzle the process is simple - that means telling himself to keep your shoulder over it and follow through.
"That's pretty much what I repeat in my head and say out loud to focus on that. If I open up, I hit it to the left side of the sticks, if I just follow that process I feel I can get a good strike on it and it'll go over," Kuenzle said.
"I've really worked hard on it over the pre-season, I've made a few changes to my run up and I feel like I've got good rhythm now. I'm really enjoying my goal-kicking at the moment."
