A 49-year-old man has been charged following the alleged incident on Friday morning, when police say two men assaulted another man at the Latham Shops, about 9.20am.
The two men allegedly tried to tie up the victim and force him into the back of a silver Holden utility.
The victim was seriously injured in his successful attempt to fight off the men, who fled the scene in the car.
The victim was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service Paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
A man was arrested on Saturday and taken to the ACT Regional Watch House.
He will face the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday on charges including aggravated robbery (in company), intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm, attempted unlawful confinement, and theft.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
