Celtic accepted a £4 million ($7.3 million) bid for Rogic's services last week, but the lucrative deal collapsed when he failed to agree personal terms.

It means Rogic, who has not featured for Celtic this season, will remain in Scotland and fight for his place in Neil Lennon's team.

The Canberra-born playmaker has been plagued by injury in recent years and consequently fallen down the pecking order, with the arrival of David Turnbull putting his spot under threat.

Should Rogic look elsewhere for more minutes, Aloisi hopes a Premier League club swoops in for his signature.

"I hope [he doesn't transfer], at the moment I would rather Tom stay at Celtic," Aloisi said.

"If he were to transfer anywhere, I'd like him to go to the Premier League because I think he's a very talented player and want to see him play in the best league possible.

"He's done an amazing job at Celtic when he has played, he's been unfortunate with a few injuries of late. He's been winning titles there for a number of years.

"I hope he stays in Europe for as long as possible and plays in the best leagues. If he does transfer, it would be nice to see him in the Premier League, at the moment we've only got Mat Ryan to watch and I think we'd like to watch a few other Australians."

Rogic fell out of favour with Lennon last season and has been mostly an unused substitute. He was left out of Celtic's 18-man squad that fell 2-1 to Ferencvaros in a Champions League qualifier late last month.

The 27-year-old midfielder looks set to prove his fitness after sharing an image of himself back at Celtic training on social media.

Rogic was one of the key players of the Hoops' Invincible Treble year in 2016/17 and Aloisi is an admirer of his talents, saying he would bring great technical ability to any team.

"His technical ability is second to none. We don't really think of some players from Australia being so technical, but he's a step above even the one's over in Europe," Aloisi said.

"His close ball control, the way he can get out of tight areas, and the way he can dribble and past someone. He's shown that at Celtic. He adds something different to the side, that technical ability. He's great to watch that's for sure."

Aloisi, a former Coventry City striker, will be commentating on the Premier League for Optus Sport this season.

The competition launches with Fulham and Arsenal on Saturday night, before Leeds end their 16-year Premier League wait against Liverpool.

The 55-capped Socceroo says Leeds has one of the best managers in the world with Marcelo Bielsa and expects them to challenge the reigning premiers at Anfield.

"They're a team that's going to challenge anyone. Liverpool, in their first game of the season, are playing at home but it's a tough one against Leeds who have nothing to lose," Aloisi said.

"They want to show everyone what they can do. I'm expecting Liverpool to be good again as last year and the season before, it'll be an exciting match.

"I think in Australia we've got a special spot for Leeds because so many Australians have played there. There's a lot of Leeds supporters here, that's for sure."

Goalkeeper Ryan is the only Australian in the Premier League and will be pulling on the gloves for Brighton and Hove Albion against Chelsea on Tuesday.
