ACT Policing arrested a 33-year-old Bonython man on Friday for stealing a motor vehicle and associated offences.

Byron Hancock faced the ACT Magistrates Court on charges including two counts of driving a motor vehicle without consent; two counts of unlicenced driving; theft; two counts of damage property; and number plate not properly issued.
In a statement, police said they received reports on Tuesday and Friday, that someone had broken into vehicles in Acton and Chifley respectively.
About 3pm on Friday, police located an allegedly stolen white Toyota Camry outside a residence in Ngunnawal, and arrested the Mr Hancock inside the residence a short time later.
A subsequent examination of the Camry located a large number of items reported as having been stolen from vehicles around Canberra.
Mr Hancock did enter pleas nor make an application for bail. He will return to court later this month.
Investigations are continuing into other incidents and police anticipate laying numerous additional charges against the man in the coming days.
