And the 12-10 victory at Seiffert Oval on Saturday has set up a cracking Katrina Fanning Shield grand final when the two teams meet again next weekend.
Just four points separate the two teams from their three games this season, with the Blues winning the first two and the Bushpies the last one.
The winner came with just two minutes remaining as Bushpies winger Ema Masi levelled the scores with her try before Elissa Blowes slotted the match-winning conversion from the sideline.
Bushpies second-rower Samara Afele scored the opening try of the game before the Blues hit back through prop Seluvaia Kiriui and five-eighth Jacinta Williams.
Bushpies coach Greg Smith was excited about the prospect of what the two teams might produce on the big stage.
While he was proud of his whole, he team he was especially pleased with the efforts of Afele, halfback Eilish Winback and winger Kaiti Primrose.
"Em Masi scored the one wide out which put it level and then a lucky a kick off the upright that went in to break the deadlock," Smith said.
"[Blowes] has been practicing all week she said. It was a good game actually, they've always been good games with them ... a good grand final next week hopefully."

Blues halfback Sammie Wood said they would hit the training paddock this week to fix up the errors that plagued them against the Bushpies.
"It was unfortunate. It's just back to training on Tuesday - basic skills and stuff like that because we forgot to do our basic things and we lost concentration there for a little while," Wood said.
"It's been very close. In the past two games we've beaten them in the last minute and then today they did it to us. It's been very even."
In the other game, the Tuggeranong Buffaloes finished their season with a 36-0 win over the West Belconnen Warriors at Gungahlin Enclosed.
Meanwhile, the Canberra Raiders under-20s will go into the Canberra Raiders Cup grand final full of confidence after beating their opponent in next week's decider, the Gungahlin Bulls, 46-28. The Woden Valley Rams beat the Blues 29-20.
