The Blue Devils secured a 10^th successive grand final appearance with an emphatic 4-1 win over Gungahlin United at Deakin Stadium on Sunday.

The last five finals have had two things in common: Belconnen and Canberra Croatia.

So it's only fitting the powerhouse clubs will meet for a sixth time in next week's championship decider.

Undefeated Croatia kept its perfect record intact with a 4-1 win over Canberra Olympic to secure its spot in the grand final.

So for Belconnen coach Ahmed Ugool, the job was only half done.

"It's an achievement to make the grand final but it's a bigger achievement to win it. For these players, they understand that perfectly because they've done it so many times before," Ugool said.

"That'll be our attention this week, to prepare properly and hopefully bring another one home next Saturday."

Belconnen will be eager to address its slow start ahead of next week's decider, having succumbed to Diego Iglesias' side's early pressure.

Gungahlin's Elke Aitolu struck the ball on target from 35 metres in the opening minute - only to be denied by goalkeeper Jess Giovinazzo.

Winger Erika Pennyfield put Gungahlin ahead in the seventh minute when she took the ball from halfway, ran down the right and fired a bullet into the top corner.

But that's where the Gunners' charge stalled.

"One-hundred per cent [we'll address the start]. Against these teams we saw that you have to play to full 90 minutes," Ugool said.

"You can't play for 89 minutes and 50 seconds, that's not going to cut it. We had a sloppy start and conceded one but the important thing afterwards was to see the reactions of the players to still want to be in the game, to still try and get a result."

Gungahlin had poked the bear and Belconnen responded twice, with Woodman scoring an equaliser from a defensive turnover in the 16^th minute.

The Blue Devils pinched the lead shortly after when the veteran sent a header into goal from a Jessie Rasschaert cross.

The match was all but sewn up by half-time, with Nicole Jalocha giving Belconnen a two-goal buffer when she found the end of a corner-kick and tapped it into goal.

Belconnen put the result beyond doubt in the 53^rd minute when Karen Clarke converted a penalty for a foul against Alex Paterson.
