We are in an extraordinary moment in history. Canberrans started the year choking on bushfire smoke as the climate crisis made itself felt. We then survived an incredible hailstorm. Then COVID-19 hit - the most rapid global change any of us have witnessed in our lifetime.

Some months on, what the COVID crisis has shown is that, where there is political will, we can act boldly and decisively on the issues that matter most to our community.
While the old parties are simply seeking a return to normal, the Greens understand that the only way to draw something positive from the pandemic is to treat it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
This means reimagining our community in a way that benefits everyone.
This starts by ensuring the ACT government meets its fundamental obligations - ensuring everyone has a roof over their head and food on the table, a healthy environment, secure work and a real say in the future of our community.
As an experienced hand in government and on the crossbench, we Greens are proud of the contributions we've made to making our city become one of the most inclusive, liveable and sustainable cities in the world.
By bringing the voices of the community into the Legislative Assembly and pulling the Labor and Liberal parties along with them, we've been able to deliver world-leading climate action, and a city powered 100 per cent by clean, green, renewable electricity.
We've proudly delivered stage one of Light Rail, the best animal welfare laws in the country, evidence-led drug law reform, real investments in our environment and an Integrity Commission with teeth.
The policies that the Greens took to the last election have been delivered, which demonstrates that if you vote for the ACT Greens, real, concrete outcomes will flow through the parliamentary agreement. An imperfect arrangement is a reality of any two-party government. We have worked hard to ensure that for Canberrans, who expect a progressive, sustainable and inclusive Canberra, it has delivered.
We have also been asked many times if we would consider entering into a similar parliamentary agreement with the Liberals. The answer to this is simple.
The Greens will not form a government with the Coe-led Liberals - as the most conservative branch of the Liberal party in the country, led by one of the most conservative politicians in Australia.
We're in a climate emergency. At a time when urgent action, not climate scepticism, is required of politicians, we need people with real conviction and a willingness to tackle the tough issues, not people whose first instinct is to blatant populism. Alistair Coe's Liberals simply don't meet that standard.
At this point in our history, the Greens understand that we must treat the climate crisis, the housing crisis and the jobs crisis with the same boldness and decisiveness as we have the COVID-19 crisis.
That's why the Greens are committed to building a better normal out of these crises.
We will lead an electric vehicle and active transport revolution. We will regenerate our ecosystems and protect our precious environment. In a hotter, drier climate, we will ensure all developments are built with people and planet in mind. We will make sure all Canberrans have a safe and secure place to call home, and improve the energy efficiency of our housing so that our homes are warmer in winter, cooler in summer, and in step with world-best practice.
We will act in step with climate science and make the transition to a zero emissions future - and build a better normal, for all of us.
Now is the opportunity to make these changes, and the Greens are ready to take on these challenges.
