On the verge of her fourth season with the Melbourne Stars, who begin against the Melbourne Renegades after finishing bottom of the pile with just two wins last summer, Osborne believes the Sixers' consistency since the competition's inception will come to the fore once more.
Osborne was also quick to fend off suggestions her side was in the title-winning conversation, despite the return of Australian skipper and world's best batter Meg Lanning.
"Melbourne Stars haven't done so well recently sitting at the bottom, I think we probably can't hold that tag," Osborne said.
"That status probably fairly sits with the Sixers who have been so consistent across five years of the Big Bash.
"We've got a lot of work to do. We have the players that can perform this year - T20's so unpredictable in the women's game."
Lanning spent three years at the Scorchers but has returned to her home state to bolster the Stars.
English duo Katherine Brunt and Nat Sciver have also joined the Melbourne side from Perth, while South African star while Mignon Du Preez will provide plenty of muscle with the bat.
"Meg initially started at the Melbourne Stars - she'll take on the captaincy, that's a wonderful addition, she's the number one batter in the world," Osborne said. "We should play well and hopefully be contenders."

Osborne is one of 13 Meteors players sprinkled throughout the WBBL competition this season, four of which are at the Renegades.
"We're shaping up pretty well," Renegades quick Carly Leeson said.
"We made semis last season so looking to hopefully do the same again. We have a great new international player in Liselle Lee at the top of the order so hopefully she can play a pretty big role for us."
