The facilities will include a new multi-function hall, six outdoor courts with lights and spectator seating, change rooms, toilets, storage and carparking.
The cricket centre will have eight nets and will be able to facilitate visiting professional cricket teams.
Greg Boorer, who has four sons enrolled at the school, said his family made the $4 million donation to help lift the standards of sport at the school and encourage students to build resilience.
"There's nothing more important than team sports because people learn how to collaborate, trust and have an alignment of goals," Mr Boorer said.
"It's dealing with ups and downs in a safe, controlled environment with an umpire."
Principal Fiona Godfrey said the school had developed a strong sporting culture with the expectation that every student gets involved with at least one co-curricular sporting activity.
She said the donation from the Boorer family was gratefully accepted by the Radford Foundation's Building Fund.
"We're hoping to grow a culture of philanthropy in the college," she said.
"This is the most generous donation by a long way to date."
Construction is expected to begin at the end of this year and will take up to two years to complete.
