For a third week, rubbish collection in numerous suburbs will be affected.

Households that usually have their bins collected on Tuesday in Tuggeranong and Woden will have their rubbish taken on Thursday.

Belconnen, Gungahlin and inner north suburbs that usually have their rubbish collected on Wednesday or Thursday will be skipped this week.

"Missed collections will not be caught up. You can take your waste to the temporary drop-off sites and your recycling to a Recycling Drop Off Centre," the ACT government said in a statement.

Inner north and south suburbs with Friday collections may be missed this week, but should put their bins out for collection.

Green waste bin services, bulky waste collections and the wheeled bin assistance service are not affected and will continue as normal.

Temporary rubbish drop-off sites in Tuggeranong will remain open until November 22, and a number of points have been added in Canberra's north.

Up to three large plastic bags of waste can be disposed of for free but ID will be required to prove you live in an affected suburb.

A temporary rubbish only drop-off site will be available on Saturday and Sunday for any missed collections in the inner north and inner south on Friday. This site will be on Phillip Avenue in Ainslie at the start of the nature reserve, near the old Ainslie Transfer Station.
