Bluey's Big Play The Stage Show is a theatrical adaptation of award winning ABC kids cartoon Bluey, which will feature new music from composer Joff Bush.
Tickets for Bluey's Big Play The Stage Show are now on sale with preview performances to run on December 18 and 19. The tour will return to Canberra with shows running from January 19 to 24.
Canberra Theatre Centre director Alex Budd said the preview performances were a rare and exciting opportunity for the theatre.
"We are incredibly proud to bring the show's preview performances to Canberra and for it to play on with a little touch of Canberra Theatre Centre in its bones," he said.
Show director Rosemary Myers said it was incredible to bring Australia's favorite cartoon to life.
"Like the rest of Australia, we love Bluey and it's a thrill and a privilege to bring these brilliant characters into the three dimensional world."
Tickets for the show initially went on sale in February for a planned July run. It was postponed in March because of coronavirus restrictions, and already purchased tickets were later transferred to January dates.
Bluey has received more than 300 million plays on ABC iView, making it the most watched series on the platform.
The cartoon won a Logie award for Most Outstanding Children's Program in 2019, and took home the 2020 International Emmy Kids Award in the Pre-school category.
