His lawyer Sam Macedone confirmed on Monday Scott was taking legal action against the NSW Police for the "unlawful" arrest at Sydney's Moore Park in the early hours of January 27, with a statement of claim to be issued in the coming weeks.

Scott was in September cleared of seven charges, including two for assaulting a police officer, relating to the incident after camera footage of the arrest was shown in court.

The vision showed Scott being handcuffed, pepper sprayed and then tasered after he'd fallen asleep under a tree in Centennial Park.

If the civil action was successful, Macedone said the damages would be in the vicinity of six figures.

"We've only just got the transcript of the proceedings that were held at the local court, so we're in the process of putting together the statement of claims. I'm hopeful we might issue it before Christmas, if not shortly after," Macedone said.

"It'll be compensation for wrongful arrest, assault and matters related to those issues.

"He's lost a sponsorship and a few other bits and pieces. We'll basically look at all of the things he's lost as a result of this unlawful action against him, we'll seek and claim compensation for it.

"We still have to go through the various injuries, and by injuries I mean both physical and psychological, and all of those things that need to be taken into account for any claim in this regard.

"There's still a lot to do but I'm feeling confident in respect to the matter."

If the matter proceeds to a hearing next year, it could drag out for another 12 months.

Scott, 23, was hit with $15,000 fine by the NRL for his Australia Day partying - all of which can be suspended if he completes a mandated education and counselling program.

The breach notice alleged Scott brought the game into disrepute and he broke the NRL's policy on alcohol consumption.

He had a season-ending surgery in September to remove a metal plate in his right leg, having reinjured his fibula against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in round 16.

Canberra will play a trial match against the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval on February 26 in preparation for the 2021 season.

It'll be the first time the venue has hosted a pre-season fixture in more than a decade.

"We thank the Wests Tigers for agreeing to be our trial opponents in 2021 and we look forward to hosting the return fixture in the pre-season of 2022 on the South Coast of NSW," Raiders chief executive Don Furner said.

"Our club is very much looking forward to kicking off our 2021 campaign against our old foes."

A kick-off time for the fixture will be announced closer to the date.
