It's the Monkey Mixer, Australia's largest cocktail mixer truck, delivering Christmas cocktails in exchange for a small donation to spread good cheer.
Monkey Shoulder, a premium whisky that's made for mixing, is taking the truck to the ACT and across regional NSW as part of a Christmas cheer mission to help venues that were hit hard by the tumultuous events of 2020.
Monkey Shoulder brand ambassador Lucille Rose, who has crafted the special menu, said the family-run business, William Grant & Sons (which owns Monkey Shoulder) is committed to supporting local businesses.
"At Monkey Shoulder, we love to mix and experiment with our whisky, so we thought we'd Christmas-ify our Monkey Mixer, providing locals with a little Christmas cheer following a difficult year," she said.
"We've got great-tasting cocktails aplenty and a service to remember. After all, it's not every day you get a super-sized cocktail mixer on your doorstep."
The partnership venue in Canberra is Caribou in Kingston.
"At Caribou, we tried to be agile throughout COVID, we set up our venue as a pop-up take out shop and offered takeaway and home delivery in order to keep on extra staff as delivery drivers," said owner and founder of Caribou, Sophia Petersen.
"It was a difficult time but we pulled together with the community to keep the industry alive. It is awesome to work with a brand that has values that align to our own and to be working with people and a business that has put so much effort into supporting our industry across Australia during this challenging year."
The special Christmas cocktail menu includes a salted caramel espresso martini, gingerbread old fashioned and a Christmas pudding Rob Roy.
The Monkey Mixer is in Canberra from December 1-3 and will then head to Batemans Bay, to JJ's At The Marina, from December 4-6.
