Popular cod haunts, including Googong, Burrinjuck, Blowering and Wyangala, are all in tip-top condition and should fish brilliantly over summer.
Blowering is 90 per cent full, Burrinjuck isn't far behind at 88 per cent and Wyangala is looking good at 65 per cent.
The region's rivers and creeks, including the Murrumbidgee, are also in excellent shape.
So dust off the swimbaits, spinnerbaits and oversize deep divers and hit the fresh this month - it could be your best shot at the cod you've been craving.
Remember, in NSW, the legal length for Murray cod is 55cm, with a maximum size of 75cm.
Midge activity in the mountains has reached fever pitch, creating ideal conditions for fly fishing for brown and rainbow trout.
Lake Eucumbene continues to shine, dishing up some awesome action for those casting nymphs from the bank.
The best rises have been in the evening and after dark, but anglers have been catching fish all day if the midges are present.
After rising sharply for months, water levels at Eucumbene have plateaued at 38 per cent.
South Coast estuary fishing is going gangbusters. The only problem anglers face is what species to focus on.
Given the weather we've having, including bursts of 40-degree heat, the surface action for whiting and bream is very good and improving by the day. Bassday Sugapens in 70mm and 90mm are the gun lures for these species.
If you want to fish a bit deeper, there are acres of dusky flathead in two metres of water in all the estuaries. Chase these fish on the outgoing tide with plastics.
Offshore there are snapper, morwong, flathead, gummy sharks and a few kings.
