Canberra will host the Melbourne Aces instead of the Sydney Blue Sox at Narrabundah Ballpark in a four-match series this week due to ACT border restrictions.
It means the Cavalry will play nine matches against the defending champions before meeting another opponent this season, having already postponed fixtures against Sydney and the Perth Heat.
The ACT government has effectively shut its border to non-residents who have travelled from coronavirus-affected areas of NSW.
Cavalry chief executive Dan Amodio said fixtures could be changed on a week-to-week basis as outbreaks in NSW and Victoria continued to evolve.
But for now, the club was looking forward to hosting Melbourne from January 7-10 and giving local fans an opportunity to watch live baseball in Canberra.
"The Aces are the third team we have scheduled to play against this weekend in Canberra, which is probably the best anecdote you could make about the changes and flexibility required this season," Amodio said.
"We're very much looking forward to having four solid home games here in Canberra.
"We had three games last weekend, including an exhibition on New Year's Eve, and the crowd was great. Everything was done safely, it just felt so fantastic to have everybody back together again and watching live baseball in Canberra."
The Cavalry have a number of Queanbeyan-based players who will return to the match-day squad this week, bolstering Canberra's depleted stocks.
"We will have a stronger staff for our home games," Amodio said.
Canberra is still scheduled to meet the Adelaide Giants and Brisbane Bandits in South Australia from January 18-20.
The Brisbane hub, meanwhile, has been reduced to three teams with Perth arriving early to take Melbourne's place this weekend.
Perth will now play eight games in seven days alongside the Bandits and Giants.
