Yet ACT Aces men's coach Kyle Piper is encouraging his troops to relish the occasion as they chase Cricket NSW Twenty20 Regional Bash glory at the SCG on Monday.
The Aces face the Orana Outlaws in the Sydney Thunder conference final following the Newcastle Blasters's clash with Lake Mac Attack in the Sixers Conference play-off.
The two winners square off in the grand final under lights on Monday evening, with the Aces looking to avenge consecutive grand final defeats.
"We will be doing our best to compete and win given we have been runners up for the past two editions, but I'm also making sure the players will be learning and savouring the opportunity," Piper said.

"For some, a final at the SCG could be the best memory of their cricket careers."
The Aces will also chase glory in the women's division, with the ACT again facing Orana in the Thunder conference final at North Sydney Oval on Monday.
Coffs Coast face Northern Inland Bolters in the Sixers conference final, with the two winners to meet in the grand final under lights at North Sydney.
"Cricket ACT and the ACT southern districts zone have worked hard to build our pathways in our representative area and now that it is established it is an exciting time for cricket in Canberra and the surrounding region," Aces coach Erin Osborne said.
"To see locals coming through the pathway and having the opportunity to play in the Regional Bash finals is really exciting and is a credit to the work put in by the cricketing community.
"The chance to play finals on big grounds is exciting for any player and is justification for all the hard work they've put in."
