It's official. Raiders lime-flavoured milk is back on the shelves once again.
The fan-favourite flavour, which was discontinued in 2015, will return to shelves to coincide with Canberra Milk's 50th anniversary this year, along with Canberra Milk returning to the front of Raiders' jerseys for the 2021 season.
While the lime milk made a brief return in 2020 for one day only for the Raiders' first home game, its 2021 return will be for a lot longer.
The milk will be available from this week in Coles and Coles Express stores in 500ml sizes.
It's then expected to be rolled out into all stores that stock Canberra Milk from April.
While not confirmed, it's possible the milk could make a more permanent return to supermarket shelves should sales of the cult favourite prove popular.
The lime milk first rose to prominence in the 1990s, with TV ads spruiking it with Raiders legend Mal Meninga.
While production stopped in 1996, it made a brief return in 2013 for two years, before it quietly disappeared in 2015.
While the flavour is divisive for many, it's beloved by countless Raiders fans, although the love for the lime milk may not be as much as expressed by former captain Terry Campese, who was photographed in a bath full of it back in 2013.
This year, Canberra Milk has returned as major sponsors for the Raiders, after Huawei pulled out after nine years.
Canberra Milk was a foundation sponsor for the Raiders back in 1982.
