Thor Kristiansen, 32, was on parole at the time of the late-night episode in Canberra's south in November 2019.
Agreed facts tendered to the ACT Magistrates Court at his sentencing on Monday show the offender drove with a woman to a home in Wanniassa on the night in question.
The victim was already at the property with Kristiansen's "on-and-off" partner, Samantha Chatfield, who did not seem impressed by his companion.
"There's a f---ing woman in the car," Ms Chatfield complained, before hitting the vehicle and "attempting to rip the door handles off".
The victim grabbed Ms Chatfield and tried to pull her back, but Kristiansen began reversing the Mitsubishi at the same time.
The vehicle rolled over the victim's right foot, causing her to fall, hit her head on the bonnet and "black out for a moment".
When she regained consciousness, she saw Kirstiansen walking towards her and asking if she was OK, but he turned around before reaching her and drove away "at speed".
The victim suffered a broken foot, with ligaments pulled from the bone, as well as two broken toes and a chipped bone in her left elbow.
"She has been informed that she may never regain full function of her right foot," the agreed facts state.
Kristiansen ended up pleading guilty to charges of negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and failing to provide assistance following a collision.
In a statement read to the court on Monday, the "very sporty" victim said she could no longer run, drive, or even stand up for long periods.
She said she was unable to work full-time because of her physical injuries and associated post-traumatic stress disorder.
The incident had also had a major impact on her relationship with her children, including a daughter who witnessed the incident.
"[My daughter] won't sleep in her own bed," the victim wrote.
"She sleeps with me because she is concerned for all of us that Thor is going to come back. His actions have made my whole family feel very unsafe.
"My family has known Thor for more than 20 years as a friend. I will never forgive him for the damage he has done to myself and my kids."
Kristiansen's lawyer, Paul Edmonds, told the court the offences in question would not ordinarily attract a custodial sentence.
But he conceded one was appropriate because a community-based sentence was not an option, with Kristiansen having already been sent back to jail to serve the rest of an existing sentence for serious offending that included directing a drug ring.
Prosecutor Chamil Wanigaratne, calling for a custodial sentence, said Kristiansen's lengthy criminal history and failure to render assistance to an injured friend were "concerning".
Magistrate James Lawton ultimately sentenced Kristiansen to five months in jail on the negligent driving charge.
He also fined him $2000 each for failing to provide assistance following the incident, and for an unrelated theft of rum from a Liquorland outlet.
The new jail term is set to commence in December, when the 32-year-old's current sentence expires.
Mr Lawton also extended Kristiansen's non-parole period by three months, but the offender has already served that time since returning to jail and the court heard he planned to apply for parole on Tuesday.
