Canberra Raiders winger Bailey Simonsson is still in the mix for the Green Machine's pre-season trial against the Sydney Roosters at Seiffert Oval next Saturday, despite being a a late withdrawal from the NRL All Stars game.
He suffered a minor lower leg injury during the week, but it's believed he was withdrawn as a precautionary measure.
The 23-year-old was replaced in the Maori All Stars squad by North Queensland forward Wiremu Greig.
Simonsson's coming back from a shoulder injury that ended his 2020 NRL season in round nine.
That injury allowed Fijian flyer Semi Valemei to make his NRL debut, before ending the season with four tries from 10 games - including the preliminary final.
Simonsson was listed as a reserve for the Maoris to take on the Indigenous All Stars at Townsville on Saturday night.
The Raiders' only pre-season trial was close to selling out, with capacity capped at 2000 - despite the ACT government easing restrictions to allow full capacity for ticketed seats on Friday.
