The public servant won a competition run by ActewAGL to flick the switch, officially starting one of Canberra's favourite festivals.
She was watched on by husband Matthew and "very excited" daughter Harriett, 7, as well as friends Jess and Andrew Knight.

The competition was held by ActewAGL through Facebook.
"We love going to Enlighten, it's something we do as a family," Amanda said.
