When Sydney Roosters young gun Joseph Suaalii went down clutching his right leg, only for it to be cramp.
Mick Ennis, running water for the Canberra Raiders, stopped to give the 17-year-old a stretch while calling the Roosters' trainers on.
Suaalii was carried from the field with five minutes remaining, but not before he scored a double playing at right centre for the North Sydney Bears.
They beat the Canberra Raiders' NSW Cup side 26-18, with Raiders senior players Corey Horsbugh and Tom Starling both scoring four-pointers, at Seiffert Oval on Saturday.
Not long after Horsburgh had crashed over, Suaalii finished off a nice Bears move to go over the top of his Raiders opponent.
He then produced a nice right-foot step to cross in the corner in the second half.
It was the same right leg that cramped just minutes afterwards.
He didn't shirk the tough carries coming out of yardage and looked at home at this level.
It was a trial performance that drew a full contingent of NRL media down from Sydney.
The Raiders took the opportunity to give their senior players a run as well.
Bailey Simonsson had a stint at fullback, while Seb Kris and Harley Smith-Shields both played at left centre - where there could be an NRL spot up for grabs if Canberra co-captain Jarrod Croker (shoulder) isn't ready for round one.
