The Fashion in the Foyer: Zimmermann + Ellis Rowan exhibition showcases eight looks from fashion label Zimmermann's Spring 21 collection, Wild Botanic alongside the Ellis Rowan paintings that inspired their creation.
The fashion installation is on until March 11 and open from 8.30am to 5pm. Entry is free.
In the library's Exhibition Gallery, a series of Ellis Rowan paintings document the botanical illustrator's time in New Guinea, where she created numerous pictures of the region's birds of paradise and wildflowers.
Zimmermann's creative director Nicky Zimmermann was instantly taken by the beautiful botanical artwork of the 19th-century Australian artist and wanted to bring the artworks to life - laying the seed for the creation of Wild Botanica.
"It really resonated with me - it was emotive art and very Australian - I recognised the plants and birds and I loved the way she painted with such a feminine hand. I thought her artwork would be amazing to apply to clothing," she said.
The Ellis rowan exhibition, which is also free to visit, has been extended until March 28.
