It might sound stupid after being held goalless in the first half and getting beaten by 38 points, but GWS coach Alan McConnell was proud of the Giants' efforts.

Especially against a Brisbane Lions outfit he's modelling his own team on.
The Lions went top of the AFLW ladder with their 7.13 (55) to 2.5 (17) victory over the Giants in front of 1847 fans at Manuka Oval on Saturday.
They held the Giants goalless in the first half, with Katherine Smith finally breaking the drought in the third quarter.
It was the fifth time the Lions have managed the feat this season.
Canberra's Britt Tully was excellent for the Giants, along with Alicia Eva, while Alexandra Anderson and Emily Bates were at the heart of the Lions' dominant midfield.
Dakota Davidson provided a target for Brisbane up forward, with Isabel Dawes joining her as the only two multiple goal scorers with two apiece.
"As stupid as it sounds I'm actually proud of them around the way we tried to play today [compared with] last week," McConnell said.
"Last week there was a lot of surge, there was a lot of junk in the game - the opposition had a lot of chains from one end of the ground to the other.
"And this [Lions] team is capable of both preventing you from being able to go from one end of the ground to the other and goes from one end of the ground to the other.
"I thought we tried to play a brand of footy that's going to take us somewhere in the longer term today - far better than we did last week.
"That said, the scoreboard wasn't very flattering ... they're a bloody good team.
"They're tough at the coalface and if they don't get it they're coming at you 100 miles an hour ... there's a good reason they're at the top of the ladder."
The Lions are ahead of Collingwood and Adelaide on percentage, but the Magpies could return to the summit if they beat the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.
Brisbane then face the Pies in what's shaping as a cracking game next weekend before rounding out the regular season with more tough games against North Melbourne and the Demons.
"It's funny how it's going to turn out actually - the next three games you've got basically the top six playing each other," Lions coach Craig Starcevich said.
"We're all going to win a few and lose a few on the way through so it's going to be hard work.
"But it will be exciting. It's become a season within a season really the last three games.
"I know the oppo we've got are all going to be there at the end. So we've got to make sure if we want to be right up the top we've got to beat those type of teams."
