Hockey ACT will launch their season in memory of lifetime hockey member Max Hill after his passing three weeks ago.

Flags will be set at half mast and players are set to wear black armbands to pay their respects in round one on Saturday for what would have been his 102nd birthday.
Hill received an Order of Australia medal in 1990 for his services to hockey having carved out an illustrious 20-year playing career before rising through the administration ranks and becoming vice president of the ACT Hockey Association from 1954 to 1969.
Sue Forbes, Hill's youngest daughter, said the family were honoured the season opener will be dedicated to their father.
"He had a great love of hockey particularly in the ACT," Forbes said.

"Hockey was very important to him and from our point of view it is a tremendous honour that they would be doing this on their opening day to acknowledge his contributions.
"We're very honoured that they will be doing this. It does mean a great deal for the family, such recognition for somebody that's a quite humble man."
Central will open the women's Capital League season against St Patrick's at the National Hockey Centre on Saturday.
Reigning men's Capital League premiers Western Districts will start their title defence against Goulburn on Sunday.
