The Raiders game against the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday may have to be relocated to Sydney because of the cases in south-east Queensland.
A decision was expected mid-morning when the latest numbers for new cases were known.
And the soloist in Wednesday's Canberra Symphony Orchestra concert has had to pull out and return home to Brisbane.
The orchestra was to perform a violin concerto featuring the soloist Courtenay Cleary, but the violinist has flown out of Canberra because of the rule changes as the new outbreak develops.
As more cases emerged in Queensland, the ACT Government decided that people who had been in Brisbane recently would need to go into quarantine in Canberra.
The new regulation says: "If you are currently in the ACT and were in Greater Brisbane on or after 15 March, you must immediately enter quarantine."
Quarantine would have to last until the early evening on Thursday but the violinist was due to be on stage at the Llewellyn Hall at the ANU on Wednesday and Thursday evening.

On the rugby league, the NRL said on Tuesday evening: "The Gold Coast Titans are expected to relocate to Sydney on Wednesday as the NRL look to continue the season without being too heavily impacted by the COVID-19 cluster spread in south-east Queensland.
"Titans players and staff have been told to pack their bags and be prepared to depart for Sydney tomorrow," the report on the NRL website said on Tuesday evening.
No decision had been taken on Tuesday evening. It will depend on how many new cases of community transmission of COVID-19 have happened in the last 24 hours. The Titans and the NRL would make the decision.
At tonight's CSO concert, the violinist was due to play the concerto by Korngold. This will now be replaced by Sibelius' Fifth Symphony, described by CSO Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Jessica Cottis as "uplifting, expansive and joyous".
"The CSO is an incredibly dedicated and versatile orchestra," she said. "I commend them on their agility in pivoting to this alternate repertoire under the circumstances. We look forward to presenting an equally exciting program for our audiences."
