While police said it was pleasing there were no fatal incidents during the double demerits period, officers caught 167 drivers speeding during the five days.
Among them was one driver who was detected at 194km/h in an 80km/h zone on Yarra Glen, while another motorist was clocked at 172km/h in an 80km/h zone on the Monaro Highway.
Of the 167 speeding offences registered, 14 were more than 30km/h above the speed limit and three of those were more than 45km/h over.
In another incident, a driver was recorded as being behind the wheel with a blood-alcohol reading of 0.159, more than three times the legal limit.
ACT Road Policing detective sergeant Bill Evans said drink-driving offences were down this Easter compared with previous years.
"The number of people choosing to drink and driver was lower, with four drink drivers detected from more than 1800 tests conducted," Detective Sergeant Evans said.
"That's a good result given the number of tests conducted, but it's still four too many."
Drug drivers accounted for more offences than drink drivers during the Easter holiday period, when eight people returned positive roadside drug tests.
A further 41 drivers were caught driving unregistered vehicles, and 29 of those also did not have compulsory third-party insurance.
Meanwhile, NSW Police stopped a car on the Hume Highway at Coolac and charged the driver and passenger with a variety of offences.
They said officers were checking speeds about 3.20pm when they spotted a Subaru Liberty travelling at 128km/h in a 110km/h zone.
"Officers stopped the car and spoke to the p-plate driver, a 41-year-old man, and his passenger, a 33-year-old man," they said in a statement.
"During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers allegedly found a small resealable bag containing methylamphetamine (ice) and an ice pipe. Further checks revealed the passenger was wanted by police after he was allegedly involved in a pursuit in a stolen car from Queensland about 7am that day, before abandoning the car on Speedway Road, Goulburn.
"The passenger was arrested and searched by officers, who allegedly located a pocketknife. He was taken to Gundagai Police Station, where he was charged with receive property stolen outside NSW, police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not motor vehicle), possess prohibited drug, and custody of knife in public place."
The driver allegedly returned a positive result to methylamphetamine. His licence was suspended, and he was released pending further inquiries.
