A woman has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after her car crashed on the Monaro Highway.

Police were on scene on Wednesday evening, and at about 8pm one southbound lane was expected to remain closed for some time.
Firefighters freed the woman in her late teens from the car after it flipped on its side.
Paramedics treated her at the scene for abdominal and multiple lower limb injuries. She was taken to hospital.
The single-vehicle crash occurred on the Monaro Highway between Isabella and Johnson drives at Tuggeranong.
ACT Policing remained on scene to investigate the cause of the crash.
The community was asked to avoid the area.
