1. Matt Keegan
This weekend sees saxophonist Matt Keegan delve into his family's history on stage and create a musical story of migration and cultural fusion, pictured. Keegan's great-grandfather, Heini Portnoj was a pianist and composer working in Vienna between the two wars. Thwarted by the rise of the Nazi movement in Austria, he and his family fled and eventually arrived in Australia. After spending some years in the Tatura internment camp, Heini carved out a new musical career in Australia.
