Travellers who have entered the ACT from parts of Western Australia that were affected by a snap Covid lockdown will no longer be ordered to stay at home.
The updated advice from ACT Health comes after it was announced the Perth and Peel region lockdown would end at 2.01am on Tuesday.
However, some restrictions will still be in place for travellers to the ACT from affected areas of WA.
Stay-at-home requirements will still be in place for people who have been classified as a close or casual contact of a COVID-positive person.
Those who have been to a casual exposure site linked to the Covid outbreak, either in WA or parts of Melbourne, and are already in the ACT will still be required to isolate until they receive a negative test result.
ACT residents returning to Canberra who have visited an exposure site will still be required to quarantine for 14 days and must contact ACT Health.
Non-ACT residents who have visited an exposure site will not be allowed to enter unless they obtain an exemption.
Anyone who entered the ACT after 2.01am on Tuesday and spent time in either Perth or the Peel region will be required to complete an online declaration form.
Canberrans who had been travelling during the Anzac Day long weekend were urged to check the public health advice from areas they had returned from.
The three-day lockdown in Perth and Peel was sparked by an outbreak of COVID that had leaked out of the Perth Mercure hotel, which had been used as a hotel quarantine facility.
A man who had been released after two weeks in quarantine later tested positive for COVID-19, and community transmission had been recorded with people who he had come into contact with in Perth.
WA Premier Mark McGowan announced the end of the lockdown after no further instances of community transmission in the area.
However, he said some restrictions will remain in place for several days following the end of lockdown, such as the mandatory wearing of masks in public.
