Ex-Canberra Raiders captain Terry Campese took the bragging rights in the battle of the rugby codes, winning the three-round fight at the Hellenic Club on Saturday night.
They helped raise money for Capital Region Muscular Dystrophy and the Terry Campese Foundation, which split the purse 50-50.
Alexander was licking his wounds in bed on Sunday morning, but had enough energy left to rule out a future in the boxing ring.
The 36-year-old was content with his 72 Tests for Australia and 154 caps for the ACT Brumbies.
He sent out a special thanks to all the people who reached into their pockets to ensure there was a massive benefit for two worthy causes.
"Blown away by everyone's generosity, absolutely blown away," Alexander said.
"It was intense. Very stressful, but a lot of fun. But I won't be doing it again that's for sure.
"All the training went out the door and I just tried to win. We just emptied the tank and put on a show for charity.
"Campo landed a couple of bell ringers in those first few rounds and I tried to fight back, but he got the points decision so well done Campo.
"Charity was the big winner on the night."
They helped Canberra United's Powerchair team in the process as well, with several sponsors found towards competing at the national championships to get a crack of being part of the Australian team that will host the world titles next year.
